City of Atlanta and Southeast Environmental Leaders

To dialogue on Atlanta’s New Sustainability Plan at EXPO

The City of Atlanta’s Sustainability Plan, “Power to Change,” will be presented to environmental leaders throughout the Southeast region in an in-depth forum at the upcoming GreenBusiness Works EXPO: “Poised for Prosperity.”

Scheduled for 10:30 AM on Thursday, Oct. 28 at the Cobb Galleria, the debriefing comes on the heels of Mayor Reed’s press conference kicking off Atlanta Sustainability Week with unveiling the sustainability plan on Monday, Oct. 25 at Atlanta City Hall.

“We welcome the opportunity to host officials from the City of Atlanta for an in-depth conversation about Mayor Reed’s plan among the pioneers and visionaries of the sustainability movement across our region,” said Stephanie Armistead, general manager of GreenBusiness Works EXPO, which will take place Oct. 26 – Oct. 28 at the Cobb Galleria. “This marks a key educational opportunity for Atlantans to hear firsthand what’s in store for Atlanta and create values for their companies and communities.”

Atlanta Director of Sustainability Mandy Mahoney will discuss how Atlanta intends to become one of the top-ten sustainable cities in the nation as outlined in the city’s plan.

Mahoney’s discussion marks a key moment in a conference that hosts a major lineup of innovative speakers and events.

The EXPO’s featured speakers include: Rosalind Brewer, executive vice president of Walmart and president of Walmart Stores, Inc.’s South Business Unit; Edward Kerschner, CFA, chief investment officer for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney; Chris Deri, Global Head, CSR & Sustainability Practice of Edelman; and Auden Schendler, executive director of sustainability at Aspen Skiing Company and author of “Getting Green Done: Hard Truths from the Front Lines of the Sustainability Revolution.”

The EXPO also includes a special track on energy efficiency, a Clean Tech Forum and exhibits by sustainable businesses across the Southeast.
